John has spent his career advising leaders of iconic retail, consumer, and FSI brands across Europe, Asia, and Oceana on how digital technology can enable their aspirations for differentiated customer experiences, team effectiveness, and crucially, sustainable and profitable growth.
John excels in focusing on outcomes, simplifying difficult technology decisions and navigating end-to-end through digital transformation; from the initial ambiguity of answering questions such as “Where do we start” and “What should we prioritise” through business case development, discovery, implementation, go-live and operate.
Whilst John’s background is rooted in technology, he is frequently cited for translating digital technology concepts for non-technical senior stakeholders. He is particularly effective at enabling leaders to make complex technology decisions by simplifying the material commercial, people, process, and technology implications.
Highlights from a career providing e-commerce and digital transformation advisory and implementation services since 2001 include:
- Serving iconic brands around the globe including multiple ASX 200 retailers and manufacturers, UBS, Zurich, the NHS, Samsung, Lenovo, General Electric, and Dyson
- Co-founding the multi-award-winning e-commerce systems integrator Sceneric’s Asia Pacific business, building and leading a team of over 50 distributed technologists, and establishing a global delivery Centre of Excellence in China
- Implementing several e-commerce technology firsts in Korea, Japan, and China
- Understanding of digital platforms and dependencies end-to-end and their role in the ecosystem including e-commerce, OMS, CRM, MarTech, CMS, DAM, CIAM, Customer Experience Management, Loyalty, PIM, POS, ERP, Integration and DevOps
